Angus Young, Chief Executive Officer

Angus P. Young joined the NCB Financial Group (‘NCBFG’) in 2014 as Chief Executive Officer of NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Ltd. In 2018, Angus was also appointed Regional Head of Investment Banking at NCB Capital Markets Ltd and maintained dual roles until his appointment as Head – Regional Investment Banking & New Markets at NCB Capital Markets Ltd. on July 1, 2022. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NCB Capital Markets Limited (NCBCM) as of October 1, 2023.

Angus is a Director of NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Ltd., NCB Capital Markets (Barbados) Ltd. And NCB Capital Markets (Guyana) Inc. Prior to joining the NCBFG, Angus served as the Managing Director of BDO Financial Advisory Services Ltd., which represented BDO’s corporate finance and transaction advisory interest in Trinidad & Tobago.

Before joining BDO, Angus was Vice President of Business Development at First Global (Trinidad & Tobago) Ltd. where he was charged with the responsibility of Corporate Finance & Capital Market origination in T&T and Jamaica. Prior to FGTT, Angus spent four years at RBTT Merchant Bank Ltd. in leadership roles including Assistant Vice President and Regional Manager of Capital Market Origination where he covered the OECS territories and Guyana. Angus is a Director of the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad & Tobago.

Angus holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administrative & Commercial Studies (Financial & Economic Studies) from the University of Western Ontario and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University, School of Business and Economics, Ontario..

 

 

Stephen Ricketts, Chief  Financial Officer and Acting Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Stephen Ricketts is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty five years professional experience. He is the current Chief Financial Officer and Acting Chief Operating Officer at NCB Capital Markets Limited. Mr. Ricketts is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ).

He holds an MBA from the Manchester Business School, a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies and Accounting from the University of the West Indies and an Associate Degree in Small Business Management from Northcentral Technical College in Wisconsin, USA. He has extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and is experienced in Financial Reporting, Planning and Forecasting, Managing Statutory Audits, Internal Control Review and Strategic Financial Analyses.

In April 2022, Mr. Ricketts was appointed to the Board of Spur Tree Spices and serves as a member of the Audit Committee. He is also an ordained Minister of Religion.

 

  

Annya Walker, Executive Vice President— Strategy, Research, Innovation & Projects

Annya Walker holds the position of Vice President— Strategy Research Innovation & Projects at NCB Capital Markets Limited.

Cumulatively, Ms. Walker’s experience spans sixteen years in the financial services industry, fourteen of which was spent in service to the NCB Financial Group in various leadership capacities. Prior to her employment at NCB, she worked as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan and an Economist at the Bank of Jamaica

Currently, her role includes, inter alia, having strategic oversight of NCB Capital Markets and its subsidiaries, the development and launch of new products, services and channels, including the group’s digital transformation, as well as research and investment strategies for clients.

Ms. Walker has spearheaded the launch of NCBCM’s suite of unit trust funds, margin and secured loan facilities, online investment and GoIPO platforms and the acquisition and set up of company’s subsidiaries in Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. She has also led the NCB Capital Markets’ Research team to numerous wins of the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s Annual Market Research Competition, with the most recent being in September 2022.

Ms. Walker holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and an M.Sc. in Economics (Distinction) from the University of the West Indies. She has also participated in executive development courses at The Wharton School and Chicago Boothe School of Business in strategy, leadership, communication and digital marketing and analytics.

 

Simone Hudson, CFA, Vice President - Alternatives & Fund Management

Simone Hudson holds the position of Vice President- Alternatives and Fund Management. She is charged with the responsibility of expanding the company’s off balance sheet product offerings which includes its Unit Trust portfolios, Structured Products Solutions and the build out of its Alternative Investments platform.

Ms. Hudson has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry both in Jamaica and Canada. In her previous roles in Research and Investment Banking at NCBCM, she coached three winners of the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s Market Research competition, spearheaded the development of the company’s first Structured products offering as well as structured and arranged one of the largest infrastructure bond offer in the region.

Ms. Hudson has won several awards in the area of Research in Jamaica and placed first in the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners Case Competition in 2018.

She holds a BSc. in Economics and Statistics from the University of the West Indies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from Centennial College and is a CFA Charter holder.

 

Stacy-Ann Tait, CFA, Senior Vice President - Investments

Stacy-Ann Tait spearheads the development of the company’s business strategy for its proprietary investment portfolios across multiple jurisdictions while leading the Trading & Portfolio Management Teams. She has over 16 years’ experience in the financial services industry, which includes experience in portfolio management, risk management, fund management and corporate finance. Stacy-Ann holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking & Finance from the University of the West Indies and is a CFA Charter Holder. She served as a director and secretary on the Board of Directors of CFA Society Jamaica for the period April 2018 to August 2021. She serves as a business advisor and mentor to Clean Crew Jamaica

Tuula Jalasjaa, Managing Director, NCB Capital Markets (Cayman) Limited

Tuula brings a wealth of knowledge to Cayman having come from a diverse and longstanding international financial background of 25 years, including experience managing leading a number of businesses related to private and institutional wealth management and banking as well as retail, commercial and corporate banking. Tuula has a global outlook, complimented by a strategic mind and sharp focus on business growth and improving financial relationships and client service with key stakeholders in the Caribbean and the Cayman Islands.

Tuula holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, an International MBA from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto, and an ICD designation from the Rotman School of Management Corporate Directors Program. She is also the founder of 'The Women’s Collection’ a non-profit organization established to redress the gaps in the under-served female investor market

 

Lamar R. Harris, ESQ, Vice President of Special Projects

Lamar Harris, Senior Vice President Office of the CEO at NCB Capital Markets in Kingston Jamaica, responsible for strategic initiatives designed to accelerate the growth of NCBCM. Harris formerly held the role Vice President of Wealth Management (Regional) at NCB Capital Markets in Kingston Jamaica, responsible for leading the syndication and distribution of products. She has been successfully incorporating law and finance for many years as a finance specialist. Initiating client focused structural changes to   increase service delivery along with expert advice Harris passionate about positively impacting the lives of those with whom she interacts.

An attorney by profession, Lamar worked in the financial sector for over 10 years before breaking to pursue her law degree; holding a Bachelors of Art , Masters in Business and a Juris Doctorate. In her previous dispensation, for many years in the capacity of General Manager and later CEO, she proudly spearheaded a series of advancements and changes including cost control, compliance, policies, and procedures, all with the mandate of creating a company versed in financial technology. The company's revenue position was also strengthened under her watch. As a growth strategist, Lamar was responsible for pulling together a dynamic team passionate about their work. She oversaw development strategy, product development, business development and monitoring of budgetary expenditure. She was also the Investment Bank Manager who led the listings of Consolidated Bakeries Ltd.; the Jamaica Stock Exchange and Caribbean Cream Ltd on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE). She’s currently a Director of Consolidated Bakeries.

 

Najah Peterkin, Vice President- Customer Experience & Organization Health

Najah is the current Vice President- Customer Experience & Organization Health at NCB Capital Markets charged with defining and driving the change management process required for Organizational Health throughout the NCB Capital Markets Group. She is a fervent believer of serving both internal and external customers.

Najah has almost 20 years of experience in the Wealth Management space. She is known for cultivating strong client relations, problem solving, relationship building and people management skills. She is passionate about and committed to service excellence. One of her goals is to define a distinctive customer experience and common purpose for NCB Capital Markets across the region.

It remains her ambition to create a truly delightful client experience at NCB Capital Markets that differentiates and creates a distinct competitive advantage across the businesses and channels. She also desires to guide the end-to-end process of complaints management and service recovery across the NCB Capital Markets Group. She is committed to transforming organizational health from being more than improving organizational culture or employee engagement; to supporting and realizing the organization’s ability to align around a common vision. She hopes that one day all of the team will be able to execute one vision and renew themselves through innovation and creative thinking, and that she can be the catalyst for that change.

She is also a Certified Financial Planner, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration with specializations in Banking & Finance.
