PBS Group Partnering with Firemane to Expand Payment Solutions Latin America and Caribbean
- On October 20, 2026, Productive Business Solutions Limited (PBS Group) announced via the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) that it had signed a strategic partnership with Firemane, a global point-of-sale terminal hardware distributor and payment technology company.
- The agreement will expand Firemane’s proprietary FMPOS software platform across PBS’s regional footprint, supporting merchant acquiring, large-scale point-of-sale (POS) deployments and modern Android payment terminals. The partnership is expected to expand its payment solutions across the Caribbean, Central and South America, leveraging its presence in 24 markets and an existing relationship spanning more than a decade.
- Furthermore, the partnership strengthens PBS’s payments offering and supports portfolio diversification, complementing its existing physical card supply and card issuance solutions while enabling more comprehensive payment solutions for financial institutions. The expanded collaboration is expected to support payment modernisation across the region, combining Firemane’s payment technology and hardware capabilities with PBS’s regional reach, local expertise and established relationships with financial institutions.
- The agreement aligns with PBS’s broader growth strategy of expanding its regional footprint and diversifying its technology offerings through acquisitions and strategic partnerships. In 2024, PBS acquired Xerox operations in Peru and Ecuador, while its investment in Trinidad Systems Limited (TSL) progressed to full ownership in September 2026, following the acquisition of the remaining 55% stake. PBS also acquired a 70% interest in TSL Barbados, further strengthening its regional presence and financial-services technology capabilities. These initiatives are complemented by up to US$30Mn in financing from IDB Invest in July 2026 to support working capital and growth investments, including digital services expansion.
- At the close of trading on October 21, 2026, PBS’ share price was US$0.8309, reflecting a 14.8% decrease since the start of the year. At its current price, the company trades at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 43.05x, above the USD Stock Market Median of 10.49x.
